Food safety is a fundamental factor for the activity of the companies at Mercabarna.

At all Mercabarna facilities, the strictest standards of hygiene and food safety are enforced, as are all the procedures required by traceability programmes.

A team of veterinary surgeons and support staff, who belong to the Barcelona Public Health Agency, is responsible for ensuring these requirements are complied with.

Mercabarna’s Training Area offers a consultancy service on food safety, both for companies located in Mercabarna and those outside it.
