Coordination for the public spaces
The coordination of risk-prevention and health and safety systems in the workplace is of fundamental importance for a place like Mercabarna which, with 800 companies, brings together every day some 17,000 vehicles, 7,000 employees and 25,000 buyers and wholesalers, with spaces for both private and public use.
Risk Prevention Plan
Mercabarna has drawn up a Risk Prevention Plan for the areas for public use in the Food Unit.
Technical committees
Mercabarna has also established technical work committees to coordinate measures for health and safety in the workplace in conjunction with the various business associations operating within the precinct.
Information leaflets
Mercabarna has published information leaflets specifically for the users of each sector, buyers and wholesalers, explaining in a very illustrative manner the possible risks in each of the precinct’s public spaces and how they might be avoided.
