What is the PSO

Mercabarna’s Purchaser Service Office (PSO) is a service that aims to help you find the products and services you need.

Tell us what products or services you need, or what products you can offer to companies in Mercabarna.

We will be able to guide you, advise you and provide you with a list of companies that can supply what you are looking for, or who may be interested in whatever you have to offer.

1. Can individuals buy at Mercabarna?

   No. Mercabarna is a wholesale market intended solely and exclusively for trade purchasers. Eligible to buy at Mercabarna are all companies devoted to trade in, distribution of, or services related to: fruit and vegetables; fish and other seafood; meat, poultry and game; flowers, plants and complementary items.

2. Is any special card needed to buy at the markets?

   No. The companies at Mercabarna will only ask to see some document that accredits you as a food-related establishment or restaurant business, or as a decoration company (in the case of flowers and plants), etc., or that you need the product for a professional purpose.

3. Can those in the catering sector (hotels, restaurants and collective dining rooms) buy at Mercabarna?

   Yes. A restaurant, as a food-related company serving the end user, may buy directly from Mercabarna. In fact, there are companies at Mercabarna which specialise in supplying fresh products to the restaurant trade, in the types of package they need (pre-prepared or ready-cooked products, custom packaging, etc.).

4. Are there companies at Mercabarna that will deliver products to my establishment?

   Yes, there are companies at Mercabarna that offer transport to your premises. To find out which ones, contact: Purchaser Service Office (PSO)

5. Can I get a list of all the companies at Mercabarna?

   You can get lists of the companies at Mercabarna through the company search page on this Web site or by contacting the Purchaser Service Office (PSO)
